Our Mission

Our goal is to make it simple and cost-effective for all retailers, marketers and food producers around the world to implement edible coatings, using only biodegradable and edible materials, for a plastic free world, where costly food loss and waste are a thing of the past.

Our Story

Breakthrough Research

Sufresca® was founded based on breakthrough research about edible, natural coatings developed at the Hebrew University’s Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment.

Coating the Impossible

At first, we tried formulations for pepper, a complex vegetable that no one had managed to effectively coat before. This was followed by garlic bulbs and pomegranate arils. Distinct technologies constituted the prototypes on which Sufresca® was founded.

We set out to find the best commercial way to solve the problem of fruit and vegetable waste. We had to think differently – adapting our core innovation to a larger portfolio.
